MEMPHIS, TN (March 22, 2021) — Oak Court Mall continues to add to its diverse selection of eateries with new food options coming to center court this spring. Chopz and Taste Buds Bakery will add a mix of healthy alternatives and sweet selections for guests.

“Oak Court Mall is proud to welcome Chopz and Taste Buds Bakery to our mix of food options,” said Carmen King, general manager at Oak Court Mall. “In efforts to continue to meet shopper demands, we continue to deliver a variety of retail, dining, entertainment and event options to keep shoppers engaged and returning often.”

Chopz will provide a variety of grilled meals with healthy alternatives such as fish, lamb, and salads. The addition of Chopz brings a new and unique food option to Oak Court Mall. Ronald Turner, who also owns Girl Next Door, a current retailer at Oak Court Mall, has seen much success from his retail store so he decided to expand into his next passion: food. Chopz will be located on the lower level, center court near Nail Pro.

Taste Buds is sure to satisfy all of your sweet tooth needs. Chef Candis Quinn-Jones established Buds Meal Prep in 2017 and quickly became one of Memphis’ premier meal prep businesses, serving over 100 meals weekly. After winning the coveted Best in Black Award for Best Meal Prep business and graduating from L’Ecole Culinaire, Quinn-Jones added decadent sweets and cakes to her repertoire. Together with husband and business partner Corey, Taste Buds now averages over 100 cakes monthly. Taste Buds will offer a variety of bakery selections including cupcakes, candied and chocolate covered fruit, marshmallow pops, chocolate covered pretzels, cheesecake shooters, and decorated cakes and will be located in the center court, lower level this coming May.

Oak Court Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In the continued need to address COVID-19, the town center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective until further notice.

These additions include the following guidelines:

•          Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people

•          Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover in accordance with state and local guidelines

•          Do not gather in groups

•          Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies

•          Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19

The Code of Conduct is posted at the Center and available here.

Oak Court Mall’s already rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices will also continue many times per day, including periodically disinfecting areas most susceptible to the spread of germs. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers are located in highly trafficked areas and walkways for public use.

These newest additions to Oak Court Mall will enhance the town center’s variety of notable retail options to offer guests the most dynamic shopping experience. This is a testament to Oak Court Mall’s ongoing commitment to creating a true town center where community members can safely dine, shop and connect while supporting local entrepreneurs.
